Grenfell Inquiry condemns report leak
The Grenfell Tower Inquiry has criticised the Daily Telegraph and other media outlets after details of its report into the first phase of the investigation leaked early.
The publication of details contained within the report, shared with the media ahead of a 30 October embargo, came despite the fact that survivors are still restricted from making comments.
In a statement, the Inquiry said: "The chairman of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, and indeed the whole Inquiry team, is dismayed and disappointed that the Daily Telegraph and subsequently other media have chosen to deprive those most affected by the fire - the bereaved, survivors and residents of the opportunity to read the report at their own pace and without the distraction of public discussion and commentary ahead of publication. The Inquiry has no further comment to make at this time.
CM will continue to respect the embargo and will not publish details of the report until after it lifts at 10am tomorrow.
