Richard Harrington
Construction minister Richard Harrington has quit his post along with two other ministers as they resigned in order to vote against the government over Brexit yesterday.
Harrington had been construction minister for less than two years, having taken up the post in June 2017.
In his resignation letter, in which he cautioned against a no-deal Brexit, he said: “The clear message I have been receiving from the business community that failure to secure a deal and to rule out a hard Brexit is resulting in cancelled investment decisions, business being placed abroad, and a sense of ridicule for British business, across the world."
MPs voted last night to take control of the parliamentary timetable and set up a series of votes on Wednesday to find out what kind of Brexit has the most support among MPs. However, prime minister Theresa May has said there is no guarantee she will abide by their decision.
The other two ministers to resign last night were foreign office minister Alistair Burt and Steve Brine, a health minister.
It is not yet clear who will replace Harrington in his role.

So let me get this right: the minister resigned as he is against a no deal to vote against the governments deal and increase the risk of the no deal he is so against?
It sees to me, they should all resign. They were given a task by the people to leave the European Union and they can’t make a decision (what are we paying them for?) Whether you voted to remain or leave, the majority was to leave – isn’t that what democracy is supposed to be about?
