UK Construction Week is gearing up for its return to London’s ExCeL on 7-9 May.

The multi award-winning construction show will debut several new features, including a Live Demo Theatre with demonstrations from Rubberseal, Instagrid, Metrotile, Kore Insulation and more. There will also be a Skills and Training Hub, a construction-specific Recruitment Zone, new C-Suite summits, and a host of international exhibitors.

Visitors to the show can look forward to thought-provoking talks and panels hosted by high-profile speakers, including businesswoman and television personality, Sara Davies MBE, former England international footballer, Trevor Steven, and Andrew Lewer MP.

Sara Davies will be speaking at UKCW this year

Steven, whose football career included 36 England caps, is now a mental health ambassador at Causeway Technologies, and will be speaking on day one of UKCW London (7 May). Also in the line-up is Andrew Lewer MP, chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for SME Housebuilders and LUHC Select Committee, who will discuss his plans for a Builders’ Manifesto.

Entrepreneur Davies will reveal her lessons learnt as a successful entrepreneur and draw upon her expertise in product innovation, design, and manufacturing to welcome the ideas of emerging innovators.

Networking opportunities

A number of initiatives will present numerous networking opportunities. They include the debut of the Networking Lounge, co-hosted by CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) and BSF (Building a Safer Future); a networking breakfast and drinks event, both hosted by BETA (Built Environment Technology Association); and a host of interactive sessions and talks which will encourage networking and participation. Companies such as Quinn, Balfour Beatty Vinci Systra and Persimmon Homes will also provide networking opportunities.

Back for its seventh year running, the Role Models Awards will, for the first time, host three categories to broaden its acknowledgments: Rising Star for Apprentices; Pioneer; and Icon. Entries are now closed, with the shortlist to be announced at the London show, and the winner crowned at UKCW Birmingham (1-3 October 2024).
