Video | Overbury enlists helicopter for signage lift

Fit-out contractor Overbury used a helicopter to lift thousands of kilograms worth of equipment into place on the 19th floor of a Birmingham skyscraper.

Overbury, working with helicopter lifting services firm Helirig and lifting solutions company Radius Group, has installed illuminated signage for client BT at the Three Snow Hill building in the city, using a Super Puma helicopter in favour of a traditional crane lift.

The Super Puma can lift up to 4,200kg and completed 15 lifts in two flights, taking a total of just 50 minutes. A mobile crane would have required a three-day road closure and would have taken longer to complete the lifts.

Video footage of the lift posted on LinkedIn by Overbury business development manager Ben Burton shows a container without a base being lowered onto equipment that was already in place.
