Video | Kier installs 38t super-span gantries on M6 smart motorway

14 August 2020 | By Neil Gerrard

Kier has installed two super-span gantries each weighing 38t at junctions 13-15 of the M6.

The work is part of a project worth up to £335.4m to make the section of road into a smart motorway.

Kier required a special movement order for an abnormal load to escort the gantries from the north east of England.

Each of the super-span gantries has a width of 40 metres and are the largest new structures installed on the project.

Excellent job, great credit to all Kier site staff.
Shows the construction at it’s best.
Well done.
