Construction sites in Scotland will be able to continue operating under a new coronavirus lockdown expected to last until next month.

Under the new restrictions announced yesterday (4 January), people will only be able to leave their home or garden for an essential purpose, by law.

However, travel to work which cannot be done from home, which includes certain construction activities, is permitted.

Tradespeople will be allowed to go into a house to carry out or deliver essential works or services, such as utility safety checks, repairs, maintenance and installations.
