  1. There is a definite appetite, i am finding in the subcontracting arena, to get into digital and leaner estimating processes. I have used bluebeam for my estimating and valuation services for last 3 years, and my productivity has soared.

    This has not gone unnoticed and a lot of my clients have requested training from me, so i have devised some informal training days and have now started teaching MY method of using Bluebeam to some of my peers and junior surveyors.

  2. Agree with the two year break post graduation. Do good companies still have graduate training schemes leading to chartered status and are they serious about pushing their talent through them?
    At a recent seminar, Topcon are already pushing the driverless site with all plant remotely operated and the site engineer carrying a USB stick instead of pegs and a sledgehammer.
    Great on the big jobs, but what about the small office extension at the end of the road?
