Build UK updates covid-19 self-isolation guidance

Build UK has released an updated guide for construction companies on what to do if a worker has covid-19 or has to self-isolate.

The flow chart offers detailed guidance on what to advise the worker and how to alert others who the worker may have been in contact if they report symptoms, as well as what to do in the event of either a positive negative test.

The new document has been updated to reflect the latest Public Health England (PHE) guidance, which requires employers to contact PHE if they identify five or more cases within 14 days.

It was published at the same time as the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures were updated to Version 7. Changes are minor, including updated guidance on self-isolation and shielding and the removal of the requirement to display a QR code in site canteens.
