  1. “The Crown Prosecution Service didn’t think it served the public interest.” I wonder why the Crown Prosecution Service is not taking this serious situation on board?
What a shocking state of affairs.

  2. This just proves its a money making system, where the big building firms do not recognise other H&S qualifications i.e. Passport to Safety and IOSH.

  3. This is as good a time as any for CSCS to be closed down. The entire scheme it a money making machine with little real benefit, if any for site safety. Real skill qualifications are what`s needed on site, not a card that can be bought and paid for in the local pub.

  4. I agree with the last comment,
Close the CSCS card scheme once and for all.
It’s a money making scheme and for what, to tell CSCS I can do the job
I am at gold card level and have been in site management for over 15 years now.
Before that 20+ years on the tools with C&G’s qualification, now it says I have NVQ on my CSCS
I applied for a Black card through the assessment route
Guess what, it was going to cost me £3000.
I will stick with my Gold card thank you very much, the card needs renewing but I don’t bother, I just complete the mandatory touch screen test, when it runs out.
I get my work from pass experience and project results, not what it says on a plastic card. If the big companies want black card holders I just skip by them, I see that they are missing out, not me. I am always in work and that is because of my experience and knowledge which can be proved by my CV.
