  1. Misleading headline aside,
    I believe the issue will resolve itself over the next few years. As has been noted in the story, the choice of paying up to £9k to enter university will go some way toward driving youngsters into apprenticeships (hopefully kicked up the backside by their parents) which cost them nothing but bring with them much more than simply a trade.
    There is a noticeable shortage of youngsters within the industry and what happens when the 55-60 year old generation leave the construction game within the next decade? more needs to be done to promote apprenticeships and make them more attractive but also to channel the government money to where it is needed.
