  1. The Building Regulations as existing states in Table 3.2 Part B number B4 “the external walls of the building shall adequately resist the spread of fire over the walls and from one building to another, having regard to the height, use and position of the building”
Seems quite clear that the existing Part B has not been complied with.

  2. Yes it seems very clear that the Regulations have not been fully complied with. There has been much publicity about council housing and the safety of the tenants. What about private developments and the people who have purchased apartments with this form of construction, you would hope the developers and the Government will show the same concern about the residents of those apartment blocks.

  3. Not much point changing the rules and regulations if everybody still ignores them.
I live in a new private apartment building and the sound proofing regs have just been ignored. I have complained to my council and the NHBS who both say they do not check any more.
The Builder was allowed to decide what he would do and nobody checked or enforced.
We need the Council to step-up and be given the money and staff to again enforced building regulations with a series of hold points and old fashioned inspection cards.

  4. Step back in time and use Fire Officers and LA Building Control. Never had any issues over the last 35 years using their expertise!
