    I have the NVQ level 4 site management qualification, was thinking of doing another NVQ should I do the 6 as I am still a site manager, or should I do the 7?
    Which one will get me MCIOB membership? Thank you.

  2. CSCS will shortly be announcing changes to the Scheme aimed at recognising a wider range of higher level academic qualifications, which should be good news for Mr Rhodes and many others in his position.

    Mark, the QCF Level 7 replaced the NQF Level 5 in the summer of 2010. You should contact Ros Thorpe at the CIOB for information on whether the Level 5 provides access to fast track membership

If any one can advise please contact. Considering that members with degrees not relevant to construction can enter with a professional interview…

  16. I have a nvq level 6 with diploma which I studied and passed in 2011, I have also passed IOSH and SMSTS courses along with various others, PASMA, First Aid etc.
    Do I have to take a cscs course in management to be able to work on site?

I have an NVQ Level 6 in Site Management and the possessor of both black card and SMSTS for notifiable contracts.With Associate membership gone how can I develop to become MCIOB without the need to be interviewed given the Level 7 is only a number of units away from Level 7?Would like the option of a top-up and not the costly and lengthy process involved in gaining a Level 7 from scratch.Not a youngster with time in my favour!

  24. I am project management professional with various certifications and a level 5 diploma in project management. Now I am considering switching to construction industry as a constraction project manager . What type of CSCS card can I obtain and where? Can anyone help please.

  25. Appears all is well for those gaining the managers card with the aid of the CIOB. But! What about those who have CIOB accredited degrees with over 20 years in management, do we still have to suffer with the student card?
