Construction firms are being offered free mental health first aid training in exchange for taking part in a study on its effects in the workplace.
The Centre for Mental Health is working with mental health awareness trainer Mental Health First Aid England and London South Bank University on a large-scale study into the benefits of mental health first aid training to employers, employees and those who experience poor mental health in the workplace.
Mental ill health is estimated to cost the equivalent of £1,300 for every person employed in every UK business.
The study will start in January 2020 and businesses are therefore being recruited to take part now.

Mental health in Construction where do we start??
How about the client, who wants this building built in a complete unrealistic time and cost,with no consideration for the guys on site putting in LONG hours.The programme on the office wall which from day one is completely unrealistic to complete.
C.D.M. what a farce, some of these buildings which the guys on site have to build are so poorly designed, this adds unnecessary costs to the job extra and adds MENTAL health illness on the site team.
