  1. Forget the AI. There is already a known backlog of repairs that will take years to fix, and for as long as there is no appetite to improve the situation it will only get worse. Many Councils see potholes as free speed bumps and so are in no hurry to fix these, perhaps an alternative reason is available. For example, Edinburgh spent £776m for a tram line 8.7 Km long and serves about 7% of the population. The other 93% have had to watch the roads fall to ruin to pay for it. Don’t waste money on this new technology, just pick street, any street, and repair it and keep going.
