Construction to start on Aladdin City in 2016

Construction work on Dubai's Aladdin City development is due to start in 2016. The project is inspired by the tales of characters from 1001 Nights such as Aladdin and Sindbad.

The project consists of three towers containing commercial and hotel space with a built area of 110,000 square metres.  

The highest tower will be 34-storeys tall and the others will measure 26 and 25 storeys. The towers will be connected by air-conditioned bridges with moving floors. The development will be based in Dubai Creek.

Dubai Municipality Director-General Hussain Nasser Lootah, told Emirates 24/7: “The project aims to develop towers to be the icons of legends of the past with a touch of beauty and tourism characteristic of the city.  

“It comes in the prime location of Dubai Creek maintaining the activities of the port heritage. The project is located outside the zone waiting to be registered with the World Heritage by Unesco.”
