Annual Novus Challenge hits the beach
Teams go head-to-head in Wales competition.
Beautiful weather and a vibrant location helped this year’s Novus Challenge go swimmingly. Teams from across the UK gathered in Cardiff in the summer, to take part in this annual weekend of challenges.
This year the Novus Challenge ran alongside the CIOB's annual Members’ Forum.
The challenge began in Rhossili Bay with a surfing lesson and beach races and finished with a beach volleyball competition. Sunday saw participants on a treasure hunt around the streets of Cardiff culminating in a series of rounds using information obtained from the CIOB executive and trustees at the start of the session: a test of who was listening the most during the networking stage!
The winners representing Scotland, with a total of 77 points were: Fraser Duff and James Boertien. In second place was the Wales team made up of Amy Griffiths and Griff Griffiths, whilst just two points behind in third place, representing the Midlands
were Jose Monteiro and Cameron Mackenzie.
A special mention was given to the youngest members of the competition, Glyn Cole and Luke Thompson representing Hartlepool College who, 17 years of age, finished in fourth place.
